Our family friend, Marina, came over yesterday and brought these fabulous RawBites (another trademarked name, perhaps?), and we had to share. We’re calling them Superhero RawBites. Why Superhero? Have you seen the ingredients!? After you consume these little power punches, *you’ll most definitely have superpowers! Check out the ingredients for yourself! But first, remember this…
Superhero RawBites
1/2 c. Dates, pitted (about 12-14 regular sized dates, 6-8 Medjool)
1/2 c. Peanut butter (crunchy or creamy) or your fav nut butter
1/4th tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. VitaMineral Green Powder
2 tsp. Grass-fed gelatin for protein or Protein powder of your choice
2 tsp. Chia seeds
1 tsp. Flax seeds, whole
1/4th c. Mini dark chocolate chips or raw carob chips
Raw shredded coconut for rolling
You can either use a food processor or just mash everything in a bowl. Your call. Mash or food process the dates + the peanut butter, pulsing for about 30 sec. until mixed, but still a bit chunky.
Mash the dates + pb in a bowl
OR
Food process pb + dates
Add the cinnamon, green powder, and protein powder and pulse until evenly distributed.
- Put the mixture in a bowl and stir in chia seeds, flax seeds and chocolate/carob chips
Add raw, shredded coconut in a separate bowl, enough for rolling, roll the mixture into small balls and dip into the coconut mixture. Roll until evenly coated.
Do this until all of your mixture has been rolled into small, bite-sized bites. Put your Superhero RawBites in the freezer for 30 min. or until they are cold all the way through.
Eat and be prepared to run that extra mile, tackle house cleaning like never before and maybe, just maybe these bites will give you the energy you need to march against Monsanto on May 25th and put a stop to big ag companies taking over the world’s food system! Those sound AMAZING!
Thanks, Melissa!! They are great. We tried to replicate the recipe she came up with at her house. I’m so bad at recipes ’cause I just eyeball everything and forget to write down what I do. You’re the queen of these types of treats so let me know if you make them and if you’d tweak them at all! 🙂 -Rama
These sound so good! I have a question, I’ve always read that flax seeds should always be (freshly) ground in order to absorb the nutrients from them. Do you know anything about that?
