Flax Eggs

Egg allergy? Sensitivity? Vegan? You don’t eat eggs? Use a flax egg as an egg replacer in baked goods.

Flax Egg

1 Tbs. ground flax + 3 Tbs. of water = 1 Flax Egg

Replace in any baked recipe that calls for eggs. If a recipe calls for 2 eggs, double the formula above. 3 eggs? Triple it, etc.

To make your flax eggs, grind whole flax seeds in a coffee grinder or use *pre-ground flax and mix the amount of ground flax you need with the right amount of water in a bowl and wait a few minutes for the water and flax to gel and get gooey. Once it sets, you’ve just made the easiest egg replacer on the planet!

I took an IgG food allergy/sensitivity test and it came back showing a huge egg allergy. It was almost the death of me. I LOVE eggs. Love them. Until I heal this allergy, I depend on flax eggs. Flax eggs have saved me in the baking area.

Do you have an intolerance/issue with eggs? If you’re like me and depend on a replacer, raise a glass to the flax! 😉

*If buying pre-ground flax, store in the freezer to keep the flax from rancidity.
